Pina Bausch and Cinema: the Contact Line
Abstract
The article focuses on the wide range of interactions between Pina Bausch and cinema: screen reproductions of her performances, documentaries and feature films with her participation, and her original cinematographic project «The Complaint of an Empress» («Die Klage der Kaiserin»). Based on film studies and comparative analysis, the forms of implementation of Bausch’s creative experience in the cinematography are observed, as well as symbolic and metaphoric interconnections of Pina Bausch’s dance poetics and metaphoric structure of screen works are determined
