Эдвард Олкок Телёр: реконструкция биографии автора первой английской системы танцевальной нотации

Статья посвящена реконструкции биографии Э. О. Телёра танцовщика, балетмейстера и педагога первой половины XIX века, автора труда «Письма о танце, сводящие это изящное и благотворное занятие к простым научным принципам» ( Letters on Dancing, Reducing This Elegant and Healthful Exercise to Easy Scientific Principles , 1831; 2-е изд. 1832), в котором изложена первая оригинальная английская танцевальная нотация. Проблема исследования связана с отсутствием достоверных биографических сведений об Э. О. Телёре. Автор статьи, опираясь на новые первоисточники (материалы судебного архива Олд-Бейли и генеалогическую базу данных Ancestry ) подтверждает его подлинное имя (Эдвард Олкок Тейлор; англ . Edward Allcock Taylor ), устанавливает годы жизни (1797–1853) и семейную историю танцовщика. Благодаря изучению газетной периодики и мемуаров А. Бурнонвиля и А. Секонда были восстановлены обстоятельства работы Танцевальной академии Э. О. Телёра и его поездки в Париж в 1840 году. Результаты исследования восполняют лакуну в мировой балетной историографии, вводя в научный оборот ранее неизвестные архивные данные об авторе одной из ключевых нотационных систем XIX века.
